Acupuncturists must complete continuing education hours (CEUs) outside of the acupuncture master’s degree program in order to offer injection therapy. You can rest assured that I have completed 16 CEU hours during the Introduction to Injection Therapy course with Dr. Scott Richardson of Prolotherapy of Denver. I also follow Clean Needle Technique and follow the safety and sanitation standards set forth by the (CCAHM) Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in the 7th edition of the Clean Needle Technique Manual. I always swab with alcohol and properly dispose of all sharps in biohazard containers.
